NOTE: The Illustrated Life will be back in your inboxes in the next couple of weeks.
Why subscribe?
Subscribe to get illustrated newsletters about plant-based cooking and my journey in mostly plant-based living. You’ll get illustrated recipes, personal essays about my feelings and experimentation with a vegan lifestyle, and some roundups of other recipes or nutrition things I’ve read on other Substacks or in the wider digital world.
There may also be newsletters where I go into deeper, more personal writing about diet, health, and sometimes about my earlier life as a third-generation vegetarian and my particular (possibly neuro-spicy) food quirks and likes and dislikes.
Currently, I am not paywalling any posts. I make no promises that this will always be the case, but for the moment I would rather be writing to a lot of people than a handful.
Taking out a paid subscription will not get you anything different in the way of posts. However, it will support me and enable me to write and draw more, so if you enjoy what you read or see here, feel free to tip me by subscribing for a month, or longer.
If you do pay to subscribe, I will send you a monthly zine. While there are small numbers of paid subscribers, this will be printed on my desktop printer and probably a single A4 folded page. When the number of paid subscribers increases I will get them printed professionally and the number of pages may well increase.
To start with the zine will combine elements from each of my substacks, and my daily Morning Ink that I share in Substack Notes. So there may be an illustrated recipe, a personal essay, a new illustration and a Morning Ink page or elements from my Morning Ink drawings. There may come a point where I separate them out and send different zines for the different substacks.
If you want a physical copy of the zine sent to you in the post, I will need your postal address, and will reach out to ask you for it. This will only be used for the purposes of sending out the zines and not shared with anyone else in any way.
Or you are always welcome to
You can also find me at Illustrating Life, where I write about illustration business, freelance life and the odd bit of digital nomading, as well as sharing illustrations and patterns and creative process and mindset.
Or, at my newest Substack, Authentic Maximalism, a space where I try to be authentically, and loudly, myself, sharing thoughts on culture I enjoy, things that make me think and navigating the 2020s as a post-menopausal woman.
